The Indy Chamber Coming Soon
Message posted September 14, 2006
I've always wanted to have an Indiana Jones-themed room to display my collection. I bought my first house earlier this summer and have an extra bedroom where I can finally display my collection the proper way. This past weekend I painted the room a stone gray, the first step to making The Indy Chamber. I still need to purchase shelves and other display tables and cases and get posters framed. Hopefully I can have most of it done by the end of the year. Keep checking back for updates on my progress and once completed I will post pictures of the Chamber and show my collection actually on display rather than just snapshots of individual pieces. After all, what fun is it in having a collection if you don't show it off?

Indiana Jones Ball Caps Arrive.
Message posted September 5, 2006
After a month delay from the initial July 2006 shipping date, the Indiana Jones baseball caps from Star Wars Shop have shipped and arrived on my doorstep last week. Finally! New Indiana Jones product is available. The hats are very nice and feature black and earthy tone colors on the six caps. Two different Indiana Jones logos decorate the six hats. One logo is metal and the other is embroidered. After looking at the hats I've determined that the black cap with the metal logo is my favorite and that will be the one I re-order and actually wear. The initial six will be a part of my collection. The photos have been placed on the Further Adventures collecting page.

Wish List Item #5 -

I'm sure this Wish List item tops the list of a lot of Indiana Jones fans. Action figures have certainly engraved themselves into the toy market and always remain popular among children and toy collectors.

Holy Grail #3
Toys McCoy Action Figure Line
Message posted August 12, 2006
Toys McCoy Indiana Jones and Arabian Horse action figures were produced exclusively in Japan in 1999. Only 3,000, very detailed, Indiana Jones action figures and 1,000 Arabian Horses were made. These can be found on auction sites such as eBay but can fetch $500-$1,000 apiece.

Every collectible category has certain items collectors must have either for their rarity or their value. It's no different for Indiana Jones. I've thought about what to include and decided to countdown what I think are the top five most important items to have in an Indiana Jones collection in order of preference. I do not own any of these items but I do hope to track them down someday when I can afford it. I'll post one occasionally so check back to find out what "Holy Grails" top my list for my collection. Remember, this is for licensed merchandise, not movie props.

Collector's Flashback #3 -
Indiana Jones Kenner Toy Commercial
Message posted July 24, 2006
I was searching through You Tube and stumbled across this video of a commercial of the 12" Indiana Jones action doll from Kenner Toys someone has archived. It's very retro 80s and very cool. I love how toy commercials from that era always depicted children with the perfect backyards to play with their toys. Notice all the lush green, jungle-like foliage, perfectly shaped rocks and trees.

San Diego Comic Con Welcomes Indiana Jones
Message posted July 21, 2006
The San Diego Comic Con launched this week and with some actual Indiana Jones collecting news. Cinemaquette has a presence at the convention and has on display its upcoming Indiana Jones maquette. Les David of the Indy fan site Throw Me The Idol snapped a picture of the very detailed product at the show. The maquette is scheduled for release sometime in 2007, most likely the first quarter. Cinemaquette has released statues from the Terminator film series and Alien with prices ranging between $1,200 and $1,500 on their Web site. Expect the new Indiana Jones maquette to not be cheap. Several retailers carry the Cinemaquette product line so keep an eye out for price differences, although it still won't be cheap. Start saving now!

Collector's Museum Update: Craig Cacciola
Message posted July 8, 2006
Craig Cacciola from Colorado has sent in some pictures of his "Indy Room" that displays his Indiana Jones collection for the Collector's Museum. Check out the museum for a total of three pics. Craig has been collecting vintage Indiana Jones memorabilia for 25 years. He is also scheduled to appear in the September issue of Toy Shop discussing his Indiana Jones collection as part of a feature on 80s toys. We'll definitely keep an eye out for that issue.

Best Buy gift card added to collection
Message posted July 1, 2006
I saw this Best Buy gift card on eBay the other day and put a bid in. It was only a couple of dollars and it's something I didn't know existed. I went to Best Buy the day the Indiana Jones trilogy came out on DVD so I could get the Best Buy exclusive featurette DVD and never noticed this gift card in the store. Indiana Jones hasn't had many promotional tie-ins so I'm surprised to see this.
